Home exchange with Chateau de Bois-Briand

When we stay at Chateau de Bois-Briand, our Nantes sweet home, we regret not to be in Paris, caring our grand daughter or visiting museums with our 18 years old daughter. We could live in 20 square meters, in Paris... as long as we are not more than 2/3 miles away from our kids.

When Nantes is burstling and moving everyone's heart thanks to a gorgeous, generous and almost free Winter cultural program, we dream of a quiet Mediteranean shore, near Nerja (Spain) where we could catch the last rays of sun of the year. Larnaca and Capo Negro (Cyprus) belong to the same sunny-winter category.

When there is no way to escape from cold, then, we dream of a "chalet" in a village (i.e. Caux, Les Avants) above Montreux or Chateau d'Oex. We already experimented this cold sunny Christmas in Granada in a flat that was offered to us by nice family who came, in return, for one week at Bois-Briand.

Courrier services for Chateau de Bois-Briand

Most courrier companies land at Nantes Airport.

French company "Chronopost" can be reached easily through any local "bureau de poste" (post office).

Rates might be somewhat expensive. We frequently use such services for partners in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan or Ukraine. We never end up with less than a 55 euro bill...

Be careful, also, to the customs: while sending a CD from Pierre Barouh to Ukrainia we discovered that 2 to 3 months were necessary to check the content of any audiovisual content in transit from France to Ukrainia...

Paris - Château de Bois-Briand - "How to get from Paris to Château de Bois-Briand"?

When you land in Paris CDG (Charles de Gaulle) Airport, you should head at Terminal 2. Then, you take an elevator down to TGV (High Speed Train - Train à Grande Vitesse) Railway Station. You buy a direct ticket for Nantes.

When you land in Paris Orly Airport, you should take a direct shuttle bus to Gare Montparnasse TGV railway station then buy a direct ticket for Nantes.

When you arrive by train in Paris, you should take a direct train to Nantes, either from CDG Airport, Marne La Vallée, Massy-Palaiseau or Montparnasse TGV railway station. All four railway stations will allow you to reach Nantes using direct high-speed trains.

Reflection processes (as optical illusions effects) were designed as part of the gardens architecture in Bois-Briand XVIIth century gardens (Miroir d'eau) and in XIXth century gardens (mail de tilleuls).The "Mail de tilleuls" was planted in the XIXth century by Gaigneron de Marolles family to provide shade during afternoons "siestas". This is what we suppose after reading Laure Gaigneron de Marolles letters explaining that she is, sometimes, suffering from the lack of shade in her recently purchased estate. "mail de tilleuls" design is the horizontal counterpart to the vertical gate protecting the kitchen window from English attacks since the beginning of XVth Century.

Former Charles bedroom, once a "chambre d'hôte" is, now, welcoming guests for long periods of time

A kitchen was added to this typical Empire style bedroom. It was inaugurated by the nurse of a family of travellers. Thanks to its own kitchen, this flat is becoming a convenient "pied à terre" for longer terms periods.
